Snow Leopard Lodges operate for 11 months a year, offering distinct high-altitude adventures tailored to the seasons. Whether you visit in winter or summer, the lodges provide a beautiful, calm, and restful base from which to explore central Ladakh, far from tourist crowds. We are closed in October.

(June to August)

During summer, Snow Leopard Lodge comes alive with wildlife — birds, butterflies, wildflowers, raptors, wolves, foxes, ibex, wild sheep with young, and frequent snow leopard sightings thanks to expert trackers. Mild weather is perfect for walks, hikes, camping, cycling, birding, photography, scenic wildlife drives, outdoor BBQs, and stargazing.

Winter at Snow Leopard Lodge centers on snow leopard tracking, with expert-led wildlife drives tailored daily by trackers. Guests travel in dedicated vehicles with warm refreshments and can also explore nearby monasteries, villages, and petroglyphs, with flexible stay options.

The prime season for tracking the elusive snow leopard is Winter and Spring. While the cats continue to occupy the same areas in summer, their home ranges expand to the high pastures. Wildlife viewing during Summer becomes more foot-based, often requiring hiking beyond roads and into remote valleys.
